Should tablets replace text books

In this post i am sharing Group Discussion  topic "should tablets replace text books" for Freshers Techies. As a new software developer must have faced Group Discussion in their interview process. 

The present world is running based on technology in the world wide. Now a days children are more informed about latest gadgets and technologies advancements.This generation children always follows new technologies,elders need to consult the children to know about the various features of mobile or tablet. In changing scenario,do you think tablets should take place of text books in junior classes?

YES:

1. The present generation of children is more attracted towards technology and they will openly learn the things on tablets.
2. If tablets take the place of books the children don't have to carry the big bags full of different books.
3. The use of tablets will allow children from various backgrounds to stay updated with the latest technology
4. It will be easy and more fun to learn and get the education on tablets. Children will learn each and every thing with their interest, elders need not to force them to study.
5. The use of tablets is one of the effective ways to save the environment. There will be no need to cut trees or opt for printing books.

NO:

1. The technological devices should not be used for long term. It might be affects the health of  the people.
2. The tablets are expensive so that can not be afforded by children in their studies.
3. In case if you lose tablet or damaged it can prove quite expensive to the parents whereas books if lost or damaged does not cost more.
4. The parents or elders are not familiar with tablets mostly,so they might find it difficult to guide the children in their studies.
5. Manufacturing of one tablet uses 79 gallons of water and produces 66 pounds of carbon dioxide.

Conclusion:

There is no doubt that the world is getting more tech-savvy and digital. But it is not right time to replace the books by the tablets. The time will come when it will be feasible, when tablets will become really cheap and parents will be more comfortable with the new form of education. But today it is not necessary to make compulsory.
